On this date in 1971, Led Zeppelin dropped their untitled fourth studio album (pictured above). Given the names of its three predecessors, the album would later adopt the title, Led Zeppelin IV. It would go on to be regarded by many, as one of the greatest rock albums ever recorded. 40 years later, Zeppelin IV still undeniably illuminates the pure hard rock sound of the early 1970s. Long live Led Zeppelin!
